Eau de Skunk

We have a skunk neighbor apparently. Bella did this in the Fall. Now, Chief has been initiated into the skunk victim society.  I think he must have found a nest and stuck his head in because only his head stinks. But stink it does, leaving a noxious trail of stink behind him.  But the rest of his body is fine, and I never smelled a spray in the backyard.  So unless skunks have that accurate of an aim, I think it was a net. We've bathed him. Tried tomato sauce. But he still stinks. It is starting to wear off a bit. You can't smell him from 10 paces any more, but I have to tell you, the poor thing isn't getting many hugs lately either. We still love him ... just from a downwind distance!
