I see evidence of this trend all over - magazines, home tours, available light fixtures Crystal chandeliers are hot. Designers, decorating sites and magazines are showing crystal chandeliers throughout a house. And not just in living rooms and foyers. I've seen them over kitchen islands. In bathrooms. In children's rooms. And of course, master bedrooms. They're everywhere.
At first, I really didn't care for it. Didn't we laugh about the old-fashioned crystal lights at grandma's house or in the old lady's house we bought to update and modernize. I guess the expression, "Everything old is new again," certainly applies. But I confess, the look is starting to grow on me.
I also believe that this design trends finds its roots in the idea the experts call "mass luxury". The idea that not just the super-rich now have luxury materials and goods in their homes. Whirlpool baths, granite countertops, two-story foyers are nearly ubiquitous in new homes today, no matter the price range. And what says luxury more than crystal chandeliers? So if you want to add a luxurious feel to a room in your house, add a crystal chandelier. You can find some reasonably priced online as well as at the home improvement stores.
