After reading your article entitled "10 Ways to Survive Building or Remodeling Your Home" on www.homeandgardenmakeover.com, and laughing through most of it, I decided to check out this site. We are in the middle of a major remodel (our house is growing from 983 sq ft to 2090 sq ft), doing a lot of work ourselves and subcontracting the rest out. Much of the article hit home, as you can guess. Your humor and willingness to share your knowledge is much appreciated. I just signed up for the newsletter and look forward to checking out the rest of the website. :-)

Suzanne, Welcome. Thanks for your kind words. Take a look around. There's a little bit of everything on My Home Redux, but I've found that doing a house - and the constant redoing, updating, finishing a house - entails just about everything.
Let me know how the building goes and if you have any questions. Or share your horror stories - you're certain to have a few (unfortunately). Good luck.

I am impressed by your post! And completely agree with you that home is one of our greatesr investments and home improvement should be done quite often. Of course if we want everybody to admire our nest we should pay more attention to fashion rules. The perfect way for this is through reading newspapers, magazines, watching special TV programs and so on.

I beleive that homes are created by the owner by using their love for color, fabrics and furniture. These can be inexpensive or expensive items; but they are all the owner's personality.

I couldn't agree with you more. The reason why home improvements is just that important is that it ups our way of living and not only that it also helps the house value when we do decide to sell it. It's quite the investment. Thanks for the post!
