Clay tile and slate roofs are gorgeous. Expensive but gorgeous. The material, labor, and additional support framing all add up. But what if you could have the same look, at a lower cost, with 50-year warrantee against hail, while at the same time, improving your roof's insulation. And, oh yeah, it's a green, recycled product.
Introducing simulated clay and slate roofing tiles. Made from special sands into a durable, yet lightweight, concrete, infused with a variety of colors that you can mix for your own custom blend, and backed with foam insulation. Amazingly, it weighs slightly less than 2 layers of asphalt shingles which is the load a standard roof is required to bear. So it's less than clay, slate, or even wet shake.
While it's more than asphalt shingles, it compares to cedar shake but with less maintenance and a much longer life. And certainly, it's considerably less expensive than slate or clay tiles. Sounds like a win-win-win. You can also get tiles colored to look like fresh or weathered shake.
The roofing tiles are manufactured in Kansas City. Learn more at www.elagantekc.com.
For those in the Chicago area, see local installer Architectural Roof Solutions who also graciously allowed us the use of the picture above.

Its nice to look at those tile and slate roof but its too expensive nowadays. I dont think people can afford to purchase. Maybe, those elite people can only purchase this tile and slate roofing. But again, this roofs are elegant to look at and beautiful.

Yes, clay tile is very common in houses in cool weathered locations. Putting insulators are also part of keeping a house's temperature right during the day, especially in summer. One of the Minneapolis building maintenance guys fixed the HVAC system in our house last. The heater was a bit overused during the cold weather, it really needed a repair. Having cost-efficient equipments will increase the value of the house. Less repairs, more value.

Clay tile and slate roofs will surely be convenient for homeowners who want beautiful long lasting roofs. The roof of a house is important as it's your shield against rain and heat. Roof maintenance should be done more often to reduce the chance of having a bigger problem later on.

Tile roofs are very pretty, indeed. They are also very durable. Because of their weight, they are ideal for houses in storm-prone areas, since they won't be easily blown away by strong winds. However, they also have an Achilles Heel. They are earthquake hazards. This is evident in the Kobe Earthquake in Japan in which old houses with heavy tile roofs collapsed on the people inside them. A simple solution to solve the problem is using steel frames to hold the roof. It's a standard procedure, actually.

It is good to install the metal roof as it is long lasting and also face severe weather condition.
