I am wondering about fireplace treatments. I know that I want some elevation from the floor and I was looking at pre-fab stone sites- a lot to choose from....what kind of material do you think would be the best looking for the best price? My house is from the 1920's and I want to keep that classic, old world feel/charm for the remodel to give it some unique detail. Also, I did see some quartz finishes for fireplaces that were lovely.... and your quartz article made me think about it. Do you think a quartz finish on a fireplace is too trendy versus using it for countertops...? Just wondering what you and readers thought.
