I saw this in a magazine and loved it. There are lots of great ideas in this picture, but check out the ceiling detail around the island and counter. Not only is this stunning - it's not hard or expensive. Add some small molding to the ceiling with trim brads. Paint the area within the molding an accent color, then add a stencil. A weekend project that would cost a couple of hundred dollars. I'm now thinking of something on the inside of the lights around my island. Hmmm.
