Here's to the World Champion Chicago White Sox! I was afraid to say anything for fear that I would jinx them. After biting my nails, spending many nights stressed out - including a VERY late one, all the while believing they would pull it out or hang on, the White Sox won the World Series. My oldest son turned me into a baseball fan after he started playing little league last spring. When he adopted the White Sox, I followed suit. Note, this was before the playoffs and very early in the summer. Having dismissed baseball as too slow and boring in the past, it's ironic that I'm not sure I've ever been more enthralled or at the edge of my seat as I was during the baseball playoffs. (That is, of course, except for my beloved Illini's run at the National Championship last year.) I think I'm hooked. In fact, if you would have told me a year ago that I would stay up until 1:30 in the morning to watch a baseball game, I would have rolled on the floor laughing. I'm not laughing, but I am grinning from ear to ear.
