Inspired by my friend's square valances, I made some for the sitting area on our second floor. Instead of two squares I cut one in half to make triangles. I then used these as easy jabots on the side for a more traditional look. I also used two complementary fabrics, reversed on each side - so I could flip these over for a different look. I trimmed each with fringe to provide extra detailing. All it took was one Sunday afternoon. (I need more projects that are this fast and easy!)
I'm also creating a detailed how-to guide with step-by-step photo-illustrated instructions on how to make square valances. Also included will be complete window sizing charts to make sure the squares fit properly and are the correct length. The guide will be ready by the end of September. The first three people to request the guide either through the comments below or by email will receive an advance copy free. Reply now to reserve your free advance copy.
